FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Marianne’s Ice Cream is giving away 1,000 scoops of ice cream for curbside pick-up on Sunday, March 29th.
On Sunday, March 29th only, Marianne’s Ice Cream will be serving up smiles throughout Santa Cruz with an online Thousand Scoop Give Away. Marianne’s is temporarily closing their scoop shop on the Esplanade in Capitola Village. In an effort to clear out the 41 flavors in their freezers on-site and prepare the store for a longer closure, they’ll be scooping out and serving up single scoops in cups and giving them away. Marianne’s will be taking online orders only, and scheduling pick up times at their Ocean Street and Seacliff stores between Noon-5pm that allows for safe curb-side pick-up of the free scoops. Owner Kelly Dillon shared, “In a time when we need to be kind to each other, Marianne’s is happy to spread some love and continue our part to bring the community together.”
Earlier this week, Marianne’s pivoted their business model to become a completely take-out business, newly implementing online ordering & payment and curbside pick-up. While their scoop shop doors remain closed to the public, their ability to serve up ice cream and smiles remains open. The Capitola store will stay closed after the last scoop is served on Sunday, but the Ocean Street and Seacliff locations will be open daily for pick up orders, offering a newly revised take out menu, and car-hop style service.
“We’re committed to stay open for our local community, suppliers, and staff.” explained co-owner, Charlie Wilcox. “We’re literally adapting daily, and staying true to our 70+ year history.”
